Digital x-rays can now be taken using sensors that transmit the image directly into a computer monitor. This larger image helps the patient understand the doctor's explanations more easily and enables the doctor to "zoom in" on a specific area of the tooth up to 300x. An important advantage to this new technology is that it reduces the amount of radiation by 85%. Digital x-rays are also faster. The digital image only takes seconds to appear in the monitor.

Even panographic (full-mouth) x-rays are taken digitally in our office! The imaging geometry of our Planmeca Proline EC significantly increases the diagnostic value of radiographs by eliminating redundant shadows and ghost images. Our Planmeca Digital Panoramic allows limited area of the patient's anatomy be exposed separately, thereby significantly reducing the radiation dose to the patient.  This imaging unit also eliminates the use of harsh chemicals and produces no waste.

Our Digital Radiography system requires none of the harsh chemicals used in conventional X-ray processing.  That means we don't have to worry about disposing of hazardous waste and we are saving our environment in the process.
